SSIS CHAIRMAN NAMED 2016 JURAN AWARDEE

Stonyhurst Southville International School’s Chairman of the Board Dr. Peter P. Laurel was named as a 2016 Juran Awardee by the Philippine Society for Quality, (PSQ) Inc.

The award was conferred to Sir Peter (as he is fondly called by his colleagues and his employees) in recognition of his achievements in promoting quality and excellence in his organization and industry.

Sir Peter’s commitment to quality education is rooted to the Laurel family’s advocacy of nurturing learners who will become movers of society. Being the grandson of the late President Jose P. Laurel and the son of Senator Sotero H. Laurel, servant leadership is in Sir Peter’s blood, as manifested in how he leads his networks of schools and colleges – Stonyhurst Southville International School (Batangas and Lipa) and the Lyceum of the Philippines University (Batangas, Manila, and Calamba).

The ardent educator has built an empire in the educational arena local and internationally, yet he remains very down to earth – a quality that the teachers and the students love about him. Nevertheless, SSIS is more than proud to have a visionary President who knows how to propel an organization to its greatest heights.

As a Juran Awardee, Sir Peter is expected to be a role model and to actively promote and advocate quality concepts and ideals among senior executives in educational institutions – a role that he had successfully carried out in decades.

The PSQ presented the Juran Award to Sir Peter last November 16 at the Taal Vista Hotel, Tagaytay City.
