A NOT SO SILENT NIGHT - SSIS Stages a Christmas Benefit Concert

Posted on November 19, 2011

Since the day of its inception, SSIS has been blessed with able leaders, competent and dependable workforce, collaborative parents, caring students and strong alliances. However, the school feels that it is in giving that one will feel genuinely blessed, and it is in giving that the institution could spread goodwill.

The faculty and staff of SSIS came up with the idea of "giving back" by staging a benefit concert, the primary objective of which is to raise funds to build a mechanical lift. The mechanical lift, in turn will be for the benefit of our students in transporting their bags to their respective classrooms and for the benefit of our maintenance team who assist the children in carrying their heavy loads.

Transporting the bags is physically draining for the kuyas and ates who spend two hours everyday carrying about three hundred bags. The teachers and staff feel for the maintenance team who can be seen sweating in this back breaking task; and this accounts for their determination to generate funds for a mechanical elevator. The teachers and staff’s unwavering spirits continue to labor after class and office hours - rehearsing and polishing their acts.

Dubbed as "Not So Silent Night", the concert will feature SSIS teachers, staff and students in two consecutive nights of music and dance – December 9 & 10, 2011 in SSIS Batangas Campus.

The orchestrators are counting on the children, parents and friends to support this endeavor. Together, let us celebrate the spirit of sharing and caring this Christmas season.
