After the successful Career Orientation on June 21, the school will go full blast on career guidance for Grade 10 students.  With the exception of the College Admissions Review, the following programs which had been institutionalized years ago are bound to be completed this month:

UNIVERSITY RECRUITMENT TALK. SSIS invited school officials from different colleges and universities to talk about their school, their college courses, admission process, student achievements, scholarships and discounts (if there is any); and crucial things a student would like to know about college life.  On Monday, July 7, representatives from nine schools will come, namely, University of Sto. Tomas, Enderun Colleges, Assumption College, University of Asia and the Pacific, College of San Juan De Letran, Southville International School and Colleges, Southville Foreign University, and the International Baccalaureate of Southville. The different specializations of the above schools range from language and arts, medicine and allied health, and business and entrepreneurship – thus, our students will surely find a suitable course that matches their preference.

In connection with this, the Grade 10 students will attend the Ateneo De Manila Recruitment Talk from 9:00-11:00A.M., Friday, July 4, at Saint Bridget’s College.

CAMPUS TOUR.  To acclimatize the students with the feel of college life, the Grade 10 students will go on a campus tour on July 12, Saturday. They will visit the following schools: University of Sto. Tomas, University of the Philippines – Diliman, and Ateneo de Manila University.  The Campus Tour is a part of the college preparedness program of SSIS that aims to acquaint the students with the university’s physical environment such as amenities, security, and transportation system.

COLLEGE ADMISSIONS REVIEW. To prepare the Grade 10 students for the tough college admission tests in different colleges and universities, SSIS Batangas and SSIS Malarayat joined forces in organizing Saturday review classes.  The combined classes will facilitate interaction among the students and sharing of best practices among the teachers who will conduct the review.  Classes, though mainly focusing on core subjects English, Math, and Science will also touch Filipino, History, and Social Studies since these areas comprise the bulk of the test items.  The review will begin on July 5, 2014.  For the month of July, the review will be held at SSIS-Batangas.  Next month, it will be held at SSIS-Malarayat, and the succeeding months will be at alternating venues.
